To become a member of the Association of Reflexologists
students must attain a Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology from the Awarding
Body Consortium (awarding body). Students who have already studied
reflexology with another awarding body and which does not meet all
the criteria set by the ABC will have their previous knowledge taken
into account allowing some exemption. Students will therefore become
members of the AoR in less time and having fewer assessments.
Each new student will be individually assessed
by an accredited tutor to identify areas that need additional study.
Where, for example, case studies or knowledge of A&P meet the
required standard, these elements will be accepted and should not
need to be repeated. Students need to pass all components of the
course including a theory exam. Students will attend a full
time course with a reduced attendance.
What you need to do next
Contact Susie Jennings, on 01243 864318 or info@holisticpathways.co.uk,
who will be pleased to discuss ‘bridging’ in more detail.
An initial indication of what will be required to meet ABC Level
3 Diploma in Reflexology performance specification will be made,
and the appropriate action recommended.
On joining the course, students will become Student
Members of the AoR, and on passing the qualification can upgrade
to Full Membership in exactly the same way as full course students.

Course Fee
This will depend on the amount of knowledge the student already
has. However the minimum time set by the ABC is a further 40 hours,
and it is usual that at least 60 hours is needed, this compares
with 100 hours for full time students. The cost therefore will vary
and be in proportion of the full fee of £1175. A fixed fee
for the amount of teaching will be agreed at the outset.
In addition Student Membership of the AoR
is £36 and the examination fee is £75.75, both these
costs being subject to change by the Association of Reflexologists
and the Awarding Body Consortium.
